D-TEC and Den Hartogh collaboration leads to innovative tank container chassis

By jointly taking a critical look at the existing model and listening carefully to customer needs, D-TEC has implemented several innovations. The new chassis have been delivered in phases to Den Hartogh since this month.

Erik Overgaauw, Technical Project Manager at Den Hartogh Logistics, explains: ‘Safety is a top priority for us. Drivers get on and off the chassis several times a day, so we carefully examined the rear entry. We shared our experiences and insights with D-TEC's product managers and engineers, leading to optimizations in the bumper and platform design.’

Smart innovation with lowest tare weight
In addition to safety, damage prevention and maintenance costs were focal points in the development process. ‘We looked for ways to keep costs in this area as low as possible,’ continues Overgaauw. ‘Some components were relocated, additional lighting was installed and the chassis was equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). By combining our knowledge and expertise, we developed a chassis that is both safe to use and has low maintenance costs, without compromising its low tare weight.’
